British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The athlete was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge follows the global fight fans shared condolences for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
