Close to One Fifth of Younger UK Adults Using AI for Trip Design, Survey Reveals
According to an updated survey, around a fifth of young adults in the UK are turning to smart technology to plan their vacations.
Age-Based Gap in AI Use
Although conventional pre-arranged vacations are still the most popular option, data indicates that nearly a fifth of 25- to 34-year-olds rely on artificial intelligence like ChatGPT for travel inspiration.
Conversely, less than three percent of older adults use AI as a source for travel inspiration.
Overall, 25% of British people still prefer physical catalogs when planning their journeys.
Growing Reliance in Smart Technology
Researchers foresee the use of artificial intelligence to grow rapidly in the coming years.
Almost 40% of those surveyed stated they would be confident to let an AI assistant to book their trips completely.
Post-Covid Travel Rebound
Research revealed at a latest tourism conference highlighted that the percentage of Britons booking a trip last year has almost returned to pre-pandemic numbers.
About the vast majority of respondents surveyed booked a holiday domestically or internationally in the past year.
An increasing number of individuals mentioned a break as the top non-essential purchase, ranking above recreation, devices, and other pastimes, including during difficult economic times.
Artificial Intelligence Adoption Doubles
Research conducted in recent months showed that double the number of respondents are utilizing AI for travel arrangements relative to the previous year.
At present, eight percent of those surveyed stated they use AI for inspiration, rising from 4% in earlier research.
Young Holidaymakers and Wellness
The study further revealed that millennials were the top group to view a vacation as "crucial for their mental health".
A significant 90% of this group held this opinion, versus the 80% overall figure.
Environmental Considerations
Young travellers were also double the chance to choose a company, accommodation, or destination due to its sustainability efforts.
Roughly 20% of young adults considered environmental factors, compared to ten percent generally.
Scepticism About Green Statements
Some industry figures voiced reservations about these assertions.
People aims to be greener – yet if it’s more expensive, they tend to hesitate about it.
Nonetheless, the same executive noted that millennial tourists "are much more conscientious and focused on wellness than when I was young".
Controversy About Travel in Spain

The issues with overcrowding in Spanish destinations and elsewhere were attributed to "illegal rentals" instead of established brands.
