FC Barcelona Ready for First Game at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition over two years since relocating for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside based on approved permits. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. The club said completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted a public practice on the home pitch in early November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht in December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
