Football Roundup: Broncos Narrowly Beat Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

During a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Denver Broncos clinched a close victory over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and kicker Wil Lutz provided the game-winning go-ahead field goal to secure the ugly win.

Dominant Display Seals Game

Despite recording nine sacks versus Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following giving up a safety in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 total net yards throughout the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard kick with just over five minutes left.

Record Struggles for Jets Offense

In spite of their dismal performance, the Jets maintained the ball with a opportunity to drive for a possible victory. But Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 after head coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it instead of sending out specialist Nick Folk for a long kick.

The Jets quarterback had difficulties throughout, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York ended up with negative ten net yards passing, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"The aerial attack was non-existent," the coach commented after the game.
