News has broken that beloved stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the next chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Production is currently underway.

The duo are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. Speculation suggests their cameos will likely occur in a brief glimpse ahead, as the main film series concluded with their characters married and with children.

Sunrise on the Reaping draws its story from a newly published work by series creator Suzanne Collins. It will be the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who directed most of the previous films in the series.
