Reigning Aryna Sabalenka Claims Consecutive WTA Top Player Awards.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second successive season.
The twenty-seven-year-old won four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth career Grand Slam singles title.
A Season of High Performance
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the whole season as the world number one, ending 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she became the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.
Record-Breaking Numbers
Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and collected a record eleven million pounds in prize money.
She earned nearly 80% of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.
On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".

- Returning Star of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, was voted after taking extended hiatus following the birth of her first child and making her comeback to the sport at the start of this year.
- Fresh Face of the Year: Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko picked up the award after starting the season ranked outside the world's top 300 and rising to world number 18.
- Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend earned the title after capturing their second Grand Slam title together.
- Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after making five championship matches.
Recently, Carlos Alcaraz secured three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as the fan favorite for a third time.
