Springfield's Favorite Family Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: But It's Not the Car Fans Are Dreaming Of
It was previously announced that The Simpsons was teaming up with Fortnite, but this isn't the sole destination where fans can immerse themselves in the universe of Springfield. The long-running series is also making its way to Rocket League, introducing an in-game car skin that will also be usable in the Fortnite universe. That said, whether players will actually want to use it is a different matter, as fans have their hearts set on just one Simpsons vehicle everyone is eager to get behind the wheel of, and this isn't it.
The Dream Vehicle
Although most players would undoubtedly love to compete while driving Homer's custom creation—the notoriously impractical car the patriarch designed personally in the classic installment "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—that's not what players are receiving. Not even receiving the Canyonero, the enormous vehicle featured in the tenth season. Rather, fans will obtain the Simpsons' standard well-worn four-door, which has been in the family since the show's early days. Even though this specific vehicle has accumulated plenty of miles, it stands as an iconic symbol of the series. And for players who analyze Rocket League car hitboxes, the Simpson family car uses the identical collision model as the Dominus.

Additional Themed Cosmetics
But that's not the sole cosmetic from the series coming to the game. This limited-time event will also include a series of challenges to unlock additional rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. According to a press release, the missions will task players to "get as many centers and clears as there are the show's seasons, gather boost canisters as if your navigation is set to the Simpson house, and travel a specific distance sufficient for picking up the perfect donuts!"
Although the full lineup of earnable items isn't yet disclosed, here is what's been announced up to this point:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Waste wheels
- 20,000 experience points for each challenge
If the key art is a reliable guide, it appears fans will also receive wheels with a TV displaying The Simpsons' title sequence, Kang and Kodos topper, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and boost effects themed to smoldering rubber and Krusty Burger.
